CICM hosts annual Fellows Awards

HARARE – Zimbabwe-headquartered Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) is set to recognise Africa’s thought-leaders and top achievers in the area of customer management.

The institute will host its Fellow Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa on March 14.

CICM chief executive officer Ms Ricky Harris said the CICM Fellow Awards will recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of customer management and service delivery.

“Our Fellow Awards are aimed at honoring distinguished leaders in the area of customer management that have forever changed the world with their achievements. It’s the highest acknowledgement for both academic and professional members.

“This is a prestigious award that recognises each Fellow’s role in the advancement of best practices in customer management, and the impact of their contributions,” she explained.

The CICM Fellows Awards were inaugurated in 2015.

Significant benefits accrue to individuals with the CICM Fellow designation including opportunities to present at regional and global CICM; top CICM membership credentials (F-CICM); if leading an organisation the F-CICM recipient’s organisation will get a discounted price for all CICM events, training or academic programs, and recipients will also have the opportunity to have their researches/whitepapers and achievements to be published in the institute’s academic journals and magazine.

According to CICM, nomination for the Fellow Awards is three-prong:

“Nominees include thought leaders or outstanding leaders, researchers and innovators who have made a significant impact in service delivery. Individuals who have successfully completed the CICM Professional Post-graduate Diplomas qualification or an equivalent qualification acceptable by the academic board, together with ten years in a senior management position are also eligible.

“So too are individuals who hold the position of professor or reader, or an equivalent position acceptable by the council,” said Ms Harris.

CICM is a global customer service and call centre professional and academic board currently represented in three continents through its global implementation and certification partnership network with its regional head offices in South Africa.

It offers certification programmes, with its reach extending to 24 countries, largely on the continent, although the institution also has a presence in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and India.

Recently, CICM signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Africa University, to offer university-approved programmes to its extensive clientele base.
