HARARE – Low cost airliner Fastjet Zimbabwe realised a 91 percent on-time performance in Zimbabwe last month, matching its network-wide performance. The airliner achieved this between Harare and Victoria Falls, Harare and Johannesburg and Johannesburg and Victoria Falls.

On time performance (OTP) is basically a measure of the ability of transport services to be on time, and airlines are closely monitored on their on time performance. Said fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Faith Chaitezvi:

“We have exceeded our 90 percent on time performance targets for Zimbabwe and our network average. fastjet’s objective is to deliver consistent on-time departures for our guests and forms part of our overall improved customer service strategy.”

The low-cost airline says it will be investing in further upping the ante in terms of service levels over the next couple of months to improve overall customer experience.

Mid-last year fastjet increased the number of flights on its routes between Harare and Johannesburg, and launched a fifth seasonal flight from Harare to Victoria Falls, in response to strong passenger demand to offer up to three daily return flights between Harare and Johannesburg.

This represented an addition of 12 flights per week on this strategic route between the two cities. It also added a fifth weekly flight on Mondays between 17 July and 11 September on its route between Harare and Victoria Falls.

The airline has flown over 3 million guests (passengers) with an aggregate on-time performance.
