President Mugabe yesterday met captains of industry and commerce at State House to exchange notes on the macro-economic environment and how capacity can be improved in engagements both parties agreed should be held twice annually.

Business also used the occasion to thank the President for a number of state intervention policies that have created a conducive environment for business to thrive. The business leaders took the opportunity to also apprise President Mugabe of their concerns.

The business community was led by Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) president, Mr Sifelani Jabangwe, while the industrial representative body’s former president Mr Charles Msipa, made a presentation on behalf of captains of industry and commerce.

Our Business writer Ishemunyoro Chingwere, lists some of the concerns raised by business and President Mugabe’s incisive responses.
