Zimbabwe’s first and largest cryptocurrency exchange, Golix is spreading into the South African market through a partnership with the neighboring country’s crypto or block chain hub and incubator, Blockstarters. This will enable the exchange to tap into the highly active market as it makes steps towards spreading its services into the region.

The partnership will also enable Golix to integrate into the South African crypto-currencies space with ease.

The crypto or block chain hub and incubator cushions startup firms against challenges that may stifle them from realising their full potential while creating a conducive environment which comprise of potential capital ventures.

Golix product manager Yeukai Kusangaya said this was a positive development which enabled the local cryptocurrency exchange firm access to the region’s largest economy.

“This is a positive and a promising move. The crypto/blockchain hub and incubator is set to be a huge learning platform for Golix in an all new different environment.

“During this period the hub will be more of a compass for us as we navigate into a new market factoring in the cost of exploring new depths like this. We also believe that South Africa is the best place because of its vibrant economy which, like Zimbabwe, has also interest in crypto-currencies,” she said.

It is estimated that over two million Zimbabweans are based in South Africa, providing more scope for Golix to enter into the partnership and the move will also likely see the exchange introducing the Rand as one of its trading currencies.

Earlier this month, Golix introduced the country’s first ever Bitcoin ATM dispensing United States dollars as the exchange continues to gain traction locally.

Blockstarters co-founder Kreaan Singh said the firm sought to bring together the best of crypto and block chain industry, which is yet to be regulated anywhere in the world.

“We want startups to grow together, and to inspire one another to create innovative solutions for Africa. How better to do this than to bring everyone under one roof?

We, the Blockstarters founders have been involved in the industry since 2013, and now live much of our lifestyles off cryptocurrencies and companies like Golix will one day help millions of other people to do the same,” said Singh
