Total Zimbabwe plans to introduce Diesel Excelium in its network of service stations, a new quality diesel aimed at reduced toxic emissions on the country’s roads.

Diesel Excelium contain detergents which clean the sensitive engine parts such as injectors and intake valves at same time promoting less foaming especially during filling. It enables the engine to maintain its performance and is compatible with all types of vehicles including the new and old.

Its anti-corrosion technology protects the engine for an extended lifetime and less engine maintenance. Also it promotes a clean engine devoid of deposit build up and is more efficient as it consumes less fuel.

Excelium was developed to meet the stringent requirements of the European Union (EU) and as such, Total’s research and development team infused the Diesel Excelium with proprietary additives that enable the engine to burn fuel more cleanly and efficiently. This results in improved fuel economy and lesser carbon dioxide emission.

Managing Director for Total Zimbabwe Ronan Bescond said the product will be availed on the local market soon. Compared to diesel without these specific additives,

Diesel Excelium ensures exceptional engine cleanliness and brings a sustainable protection to make it more efficient, more economical and less polluting.

“Total Zimbabwe plans to introduce shortly in its network Diesel Excelium, a new quality diesel additive aimed at protecting the engine while on the road.

“Suitable for all vehicle types, both new and old, this range of additive –enhanced fuels is designed to keep engines clean over time in order to maintain their efficiency,” said Bescond.

Excelium reduces energy consumption with 1,1 percent in average for light vehicles and 2,7 percent in average for light commercial vehicles.

Total Zimbabwe is finalising with Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) approval to introduce this product on local market.

Total Zimbabwe also intends to further develop its network through building new stations and bringing more services at the stations.

While selling fuel is their core business the company wants to grow its business in non-fuel products like Bonjour shops, car washes, fitment centres and food services with some famous brands such as KFC, Innscor and local brands such as Eat n’ Lick and National Tyre Services.
