HARARE – Tickets for Proflight Zambia’s new route between Harare and Lusaka are now on sale, ahead of the launch of the service on July 9, 2018.

The airline will fly four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with flight P0031 leaving Harare at 08:25hrs and arriving in Lusaka at 09:35hrs. P0030 leaves Lusaka at 06:45hrs and arrives in Harare at 07:55hrs.

The morning schedule will to prove popular for business travellers from both countries, and adds a third international route for the airline, which also flies from Lusaka to Durban in South Africa and Lilongwe in Malawi, in addition to linking all the main provincial centres within Zambia.

This enables travellers from Harare to easily connect with Proflight flights to Ndola, Solwezi and Mfuwe.

“Zimbabwe’s long-held historic ties with Zambia make it an obvious choice for Proflight’s largest route. The neighbouring countries share business, tourism and family links and we are confident that our morning service will complement existing afternoon services on the route,” said Proflight director of government and industry affairs, Captain Philip Lemba.

“Air transport provides important economic contributions to economies. Through its impact on industries, it facilitates economic and development growth. Proflight continues to help countries participate in the global market by increasing access to main markets and allowing the globalisation of production,” he added.

Proflight provides a vital link for trade because it provides opportunities for businesses to import or export goods and services.

“These are of economic value to countries,” Captain Lemba added. “The relationship between Zambian and Zimbabwean trade is very important to Proflight.”

Lusaka is about 395km flying distance from Harare.
